Beef back ribs

Post by Glenn »

Tackled some beef back ribs I picked up at Restaurant Depot and they were really good. Ran them on the offset for 5 hours at about 250 using oak, pecan and cherry. They are not as meaty as Plate ribs (this weekend), but they were pretty darn good!

I buy those on manager's special and then save the bones for the dog. A lot cheaper than pet store chews and I get at least a snack out of them too.

I may need to make another stop at Restaurant Depot, as the Costco by me seems to no longer carry plate ribs. I have a business only Costco that I go by daily that may have them though.

I've never found some meaty plate ribs around ATL. I'm sure they can be had at specialty butcher shops, but art school tuition for my daughter is really expensive. I can get cowboy ribeyes around the holidays. Those are a huge treat.

I found that we have a Business Center Costco near where I work. Truly a rack style store and they seem to carry primals. I got a cryo of plate ribs, 2 to a pack fo $4.49 lb. Good price and these were nice and meaty. Looks like there is a Business Center here:
